Black Wool is a block in Minecraft used for building and decoration. It can be crafted by combining any color of wool with black dye. In survival mode, players must first obtain wool (usually by shearing or killing sheep) and black dye (obtained by grinding ink sacs or wither roses). In a crafting table, placing one wool block and one black dye in any arrangement will create black wool. Besides construction, black wool can be used to craft black carpets and is also a vibration-blocking block, which can be used to protect sculk sensors from interference. Additionally, in the Java edition, black wool can be used as furnace fuel, although not very efficiently. The in-game ID for black wool is `minecraft:black_wool`, while in older versions it is `35:15`. Players can use the command `/give @p minecraft:black_wool [amount]` to directly obtain black wool. It can also be found in the creative inventory. Black wool, like other wool blocks, can be broken with any tool, but shears are the fastest method.
