In Minecraft, the Block of Copper is a block that oxidizes over time, gradually gaining a verdigris appearance. Initially, the block is a shiny orange color, but it transitions through four stages of oxidation: exposed copper, weathered copper, and oxidized copper, eventually becoming teal with green spots. Players can use honeycombs to wax copper blocks, preventing them from oxidizing further. Unwaxed copper blocks can be scraped with an axe to revert them to previous oxidation stages. Besides being used for building, copper blocks can store copper ingots (9 ingots form one block). Additionally, copper blocks can be cut into different shapes like stairs and slabs. Mining copper blocks requires a stone pickaxe or better, otherwise nothing will be dropped. Lightning strikes can completely deoxidize copper blocks and can randomly deoxidize nearby copper blocks. The oxidation speed of copper blocks depends on the number and oxidation state of other copper blocks nearby, with isolated copper blocks oxidizing faster.
