A block of iron is an important block in Minecraft, primarily used for storing iron ingots and sometimes for decoration. Iron blocks do not generate naturally and must be crafted by placing nine iron ingots in a crafting table. Iron blocks have the same texture on all six sides and appear corrugated. You can mine iron blocks with a stone pickaxe or better, otherwise, you will receive nothing. Iron blocks are often used as compact storage units for iron ingots and can power beacons. Additionally, iron blocks are a crucial ingredient for building iron golems. To build an iron golem, you need to place four iron blocks in a T shape and put a pumpkin or carved pumpkin/jack o'lantern on top. Iron blocks can also be placed under note blocks to produce iron xylophone sounds. They have high blast resistance and are non-flammable, making them suitable for building houses. Players can also place an iron block back into a crafting table to retrieve nine iron ingots.
