Blue Ice

Original Title:Blue Ice

Languages:

  • Chinese: 蓝冰
  • English: Blue Ice
Blue ice is a solid block in Minecraft, similar to ice and packed ice, but with a much slipperier surface. Players and mobs slide faster and further on blue ice. Items also travel quicker across its surface in water currents. Blue ice naturally generates at the bottom of icebergs, and in large arching structures in frozen ocean biomes. Piles of blue ice can also be found in snowy tundra village houses and in ancient cities. Rarely, an entire iceberg may be composed of blue ice. Players can obtain blue ice using any tool enchanted with Silk Touch, with a pickaxe being the fastest. Breaking blue ice without Silk Touch drops nothing. Blue ice can also be crafted by combining 9 packed ice in a crafting table. Wandering traders may also sell blue ice. Blue ice does not melt when placed near light sources and can be used to create basalt generators. Blue ice is even more slippery than normal ice and packed ice, making it ideal for building high-speed transportation tracks. In Bedrock Edition, blue ice emits a faint light.
