In Minecraft, the Cauldron is a versatile block that can hold water, lava, or powder snow. It can also collect these substances from the environment under certain circumstances. In Bedrock Edition, it can additionally store potions or dyes. It also serves as a leatherworker's job site block. A cauldron can be obtained using any pickaxe, but if mined without a pickaxe, it will drop nothing. When a cauldron is destroyed, regardless of the tool used, its contents are lost. A single empty cauldron is generated in each swamp hut, and in Bedrock Edition, these cauldrons are often 1/3 to 2/3 full with a random potion. Each igloo basement generates a cauldron that is 2/3 full of water. Additionally, cauldrons can be found in woodland mansions, village tanneries, and trail ruins. A cauldron can be crafted from iron ingots. It can store various substances, excluding milk, honey, and any food in bowls. Cauldrons can be filled with water using buckets or water bottles and will also slowly fill with rain. In Bedrock Edition, water can be dyed with dye to color leather armor. Cauldrons can also hold lava, emitting a light level of 15. In snowy biomes, cauldrons can collect powder snow. In Bedrock Edition, cauldrons can hold potions and be used to create tipped arrows. They can also remove dye from leather armor and shulker boxes, and remove the top pattern layer of banners. If a village has an unclaimed cauldron, nearby unemployed villagers may become leatherworkers. Cauldrons with water or powder snow can extinguish burning entities, and they serve as a power source for redstone comparators.
