Chalkboard

Chalkboards are unique blocks in Minecraft Education Edition, similar to signs but capable of displaying more text. There are three sizes: the 1x1 slate, the 2x1 poster, and the 2x3 board. These can be obtained from the Creative inventory or through the /give command in Education Edition. In Bedrock Edition, chalkboards are not obtainable via commands or the creative inventory and require glitches or inventory editors. They can be placed on the top or sides of most blocks, including non-solid ones. The slate can face 16 different directions, while the poster and board can face four. Slates and posters can display 6 lines of text, while boards can display 15. Unlike signs, chalkboards are not movable by pistons and lack a collision box, allowing items and mobs to pass through them. They are used to convey information, instructions, or educational content within the game. In Minecraft Education Edition, chalkboards serve as an effective communication tool between teachers and students, enhancing interactive learning within the game.
