The Cherry Hanging Sign is a decorative block introduced in the Minecraft 1.20 "Trails & Tales" update. Similar to regular signs, it displays text but is suspended by two chains beneath a block or attached to the side using a wooden bracket. Players can input up to four lines of text, change the color with dyes, and make it glow using glow ink sacs. It can also be waxed with honeycomb to prevent modifications. Unlike regular signs, hanging signs have a narrower text display area, limiting the number of characters. Crafting requires six stripped cherry logs and two chains, creatable in the creative inventory or at a crafting table. Hanging signs can be used for directions, marking locations, shop signs, or decorations. In survival mode, it can also be used as furnace fuel. In the Java Edition, sign text can be formatted with JSON for advanced effects.
