In Minecraft, a "Chipped Anvil" is an intermediate stage of an anvil, positioned between a fully functional and a completely broken anvil. Anvils are essential tools in the game used for repairing items, renaming them, and combining enchantments. When an anvil is used or falls from a height, it gradually degrades, passing through the "Chipped Anvil" stage before becoming fully damaged and eventually vanishing. A chipped anvil still functions like a normal anvil, but it's important to note that only anvils with the same damage state can be stacked in the inventory. Damaged anvils can also naturally generate in the "Forge room" of woodland mansions. Players can mine anvils using any pickaxe; if mined without a pickaxe, nothing will drop. Crafting an anvil requires a total of 31 iron ingots, 27 of which are used to make three iron blocks. In Minecraft: Story Mode, anvils also have unique uses, such as enchanting tools. Overall, the chipped anvil is a key component in Minecraft's anvil durability mechanics.
