Languages:

  • Chinese: 煤矿石
  • English: Coal Ore
Coal ore is one of the most common mineral blocks in Minecraft, primarily found in the Overworld and yields coal when mined. Coal ore typically generates in the form of veins and can be found at various altitudes and in different biomes, with slight variations in generation amounts across different game versions. Coal is one of the most important resources in the early game, used to craft torches, campfires, and as fuel for furnaces. Players can mine coal ore using any pickaxe; if mined without a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch, it drops one coal; otherwise, it drops the coal ore block itself. Coal ore can also be used as a material to produce "bass drum" sounds when placed under a note block. Deepslate coal ore is a variant, less common and found near the top of deepslate layers. Coal ore is a versatile resource in Minecraft, essential in the early and mid-game.
