Cocoa
In Minecraft, cocoa beans are an important crop and crafting material. They primarily grow on trees in the jungle biome as cocoa pods. Mature cocoa pods drop 3 cocoa beans when broken, while immature ones drop only 1. Cocoa beans are mainly used for planting new cocoa pods, creating brown dye, and crafting cookies. Players can grow cocoa pods by right-clicking on the trunk of a jungle tree with cocoa beans. Cocoa pods have three growth stages: green, unripe, and ripe, with different bean yields. Besides natural generation in jungle biomes, cocoa beans can also be obtained through fishing, bonus chests, and trading with wandering traders in Bedrock Edition. Cocoa beans can also be used in a composter to increase compost level. In Bedrock Edition, they are also used in banner patterns. Additionally, cocoa bean cultivation does not rely on light; they can be planted on the sides of jungle wood blocks. Players can create various types of cocoa bean farms for efficient collection, including automated farms using pistons or water flows.
