Crimson fungus is a mushroom-like plant block in Minecraft, primarily found in the Crimson Forest biome of the Nether. This fungus can be mined instantly with any tool or by hand, always dropping itself. Crimson fungus can also be placed in flower pots. When a player uses bone meal on a crimson fungus planted on crimson nylium, there's a 40% chance it will grow into a huge crimson fungus, resembling a tree with crimson stems for a trunk and wart blocks and shroomlights at the top. Huge crimson fungi have both thick and thin trunks, varying in height from 4 to 27 blocks. Besides being a decorative block, crimson fungus is also used to breed hoglins and can be composted with a 65% chance to raise the compost level. Crimson fungus, unique to the Nether and counterpart to the warped fungus, is an essential part of Minecraft's Nether ecosystem.
