The Crimson Sign is a unique type of sign in Minecraft, distinct from common signs made of oak, spruce, or birch. Its primary characteristic is that it is crafted from crimson planks and cannot be destroyed by fire. The Crimson Sign was introduced in the Nether Update (version 1.16). To craft a Crimson Sign, you need 6 crimson planks and 1 stick. Like regular signs, Crimson Signs can be used to display text, helping players mark locations, storage areas, or provide information. Players can write up to four lines of text on the sign and can customize the text's color and glow using dyes and glow ink sacs. Additionally, Crimson Signs cannot be used as furnace fuel, unlike regular wooden signs. Beyond the basic Crimson Sign, the Trails & Tales update (version 1.20) added the Crimson Hanging Sign, crafted from stripped crimson stems and chains, offering an alternative way to display text. In Minecraft, the Crimson Sign is not only unique in appearance but also fire-resistant, making it highly practical in fire-prone areas like the Nether. Players can find it in the Creative mode inventory or craft it in Survival mode, or generate it using commands. The item ID and generate commands for Crimson Signs may vary across different Minecraft versions. Note that Crimson Signs cannot be quickly broken by tools; it will drop as an item, and if the block it's attached to is destroyed, it will also drop. While Crimson Signs are fire-resistant, they are not flammable themselves and cannot be used as fuel.
