Dark Oak Hanging Sign

The dark oak hanging sign is a decorative block introduced in the Minecraft 1.20 "Trails & Tales" update. Similar to regular signs, it displays text but hangs for a more visually appealing look. Dark oak hanging signs can be used to leave directions, messages, or for building decoration. Crafting them requires 6 stripped dark oak logs and 2 chains, yielding 6 signs at a time. Hanging signs can be placed beneath blocks, suspended by chains, or on the sides of blocks, supported by a wooden bracket. Like regular signs, the text on hanging signs can be dyed and made to glow with glow ink sacs. Additionally, they can be waxed with honeycombs to prevent editing. The text space on a hanging sign is slightly smaller than that of regular signs. Hanging signs can also be used as fuel in furnaces, smelting 4 items per sign, but it's generally not recommended due to their cost. They can also be placed under note blocks to produce a bass sound. Dark oak hanging signs offer versatile placement options, making them a useful tool for decoration and marking in the Minecraft world.
