The Dead Brain Coral Wall Fan is a decorative block in Minecraft, a dead variant of coral fans. It's a flat, fan-shaped piece of coral, darker in color and no longer living compared to the living brain coral fan. In the game, Dead Brain Coral Wall Fans are primarily used for building and decoration, as they do not require water to remain in their form, unlike their living counterparts. Dead Brain Coral Wall Fans can be obtained by placing a live brain coral fan outside of water, which will transform it into its dead variant immediately in Bedrock Edition and after a few seconds in Java Edition. They also naturally generate in coral reef structures in Bedrock Edition but not in Java Edition. Once dead, they cannot revert to live coral fans. They can be placed on the four sides and the top surface of blocks but not the bottom. Dead Brain Coral Wall Fans can be pushed by pistons as long as they are still supported in the new location. Moreover, they can only be obtained by mining them with a tool enchanted with Silk Touch.
