In Minecraft, a Dead Bubble Coral Block is an item that cannot be crafted using a crafting table or furnace. Instead, it is obtained by finding living Bubble Coral Blocks in a Warm Ocean biome and mining them with a pickaxe. When living coral is removed from water or the surrounding water is drained, it turns into dead gray coral within seconds. The Dead Bubble Coral Block is a decorative block and cannot be used for growing sea pickles. It is one of several dead coral variants, including tube, brain, fire, and horn corals. These dead corals are always grey in color. Players can also obtain dead bubble coral blocks via commands, which can be quickly acquired in creative mode. They can also be placed under note blocks to produce a bass drum sound. In Bedrock Edition, dead coral blocks can naturally generate in coral reef structures, whereas they do not in the Java Edition. Players should note that dead coral cannot be turned back into living coral.
