In Minecraft, dead bushes are transparent, aesthetic plant blocks that do not impede player movement. They primarily generate in desert, badlands, and giant tree taiga biomes, and sometimes in swamps. Dead bushes are typically light or dark brown, depending on the player's texture pack. Players can obtain dead bushes by breaking them with shears; otherwise, they will drop 0-2 sticks. Dead bushes can be placed on sand, red sand, terracotta, dirt, coarse dirt, grass blocks, mycelium, and moss blocks, or in flower pots. They cannot be grown with bone meal or spread naturally. Aside from decoration, dead bushes can be a source of sticks or fuel in furnaces, smelting 0.5 items per dead bush. Dead bushes generate most frequently in badlands biomes, followed by deserts, and are least common in giant tree taigas. They can also be found in some desert village houses and in trial chambers.
