In Minecraft, Diorite Stairs are a building block variant made from diorite, allowing players and mobs to move between different heights without jumping. They can be crafted by arranging 6 diorite blocks in a specific pattern on a crafting table, yielding 4 stairs per craft. In Creative mode, diorite stairs can be found directly in the inventory. In addition to regular diorite stairs, there are polished diorite stairs, made from polished diorite using a similar crafting method. Diorite stairs are primarily used for decoration and construction, and can also be placed under note blocks to produce a "bass drum" sound. They can generate naturally in snowy tundra villages, or be obtained directly using commands. Diorite itself is an igneous rock that generates abundantly underground in the Overworld, and can be mined with any pickaxe.
