Dirt
In Minecraft, dirt is an extremely common block found abundantly beneath the surface of the Overworld, typically located below grass blocks. It's one of the fundamental materials that make up most of the terrain, bridging the gap between stone and grass. Dirt can be obtained by digging it up by hand or using any tool, although a shovel is the fastest method. While dirt itself cannot be used to craft other items (except for coarse dirt), it is a vital foundation for farming. Using a hoe to till dirt transforms it into farmland, enabling the cultivation of crops such as wheat, carrots, and potatoes. Additionally, dirt is a cheap and convenient building material, suitable for constructing temporary shelters, walls, and scaffolding. Dirt can be covered by grass or mycelium, forming grass blocks and mycelium blocks, respectively. Under certain light conditions, adjacent dirt blocks can randomly transform into grass blocks or mycelium blocks. Dirt can also be converted into a renewable resource in several ways, such as by tilling coarse dirt and utilizing moss blocks.
