Emerald ore is a rare mineral block in Minecraft that primarily generates in mountain and windswept hills biomes. It is one of the rarest ores, even more difficult to find than diamond ore. Emerald ore cannot be crafted using a crafting table or furnace; it must be mined within the game. You can mine emerald ore using an iron pickaxe or better, which will drop emeralds. If mined with a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch, it will drop the emerald ore block itself. In mountain biomes, emerald ore is typically found between 13 and 31 blocks below the surface, often near lava. Emerald ore can replace stone, andesite, diorite, granite, tuff, and deepslate. Emerald ore that replaces tuff or deepslate becomes deepslate emerald ore, which is the rarest ore in the game. Emerald ore is primarily used for trading with villagers, also used in beacons, and can produce a bass drum sound when placed under note blocks. Emerald ore holds a special place in Minecraft due to its rarity and uses.
