End Rod
An End Rod is a decorative light source in Minecraft that emits white particles. They are primarily used for lighting and decoration purposes, and can be placed on any surface of any block, including other end rods. End rods do not break if their supporting block is broken. In End City towers, they are often positioned as steps for climbing, similar to a spiral staircase. End rods can be broken by any tool or by hand, and they drop as an item when water or lava flows over them (Java Edition only). End rods emit a light level of 14, the same as torches, and are capable of melting snow and ice within a 2-block radius. End rods can be obtained by natural generation in End Cities or through crafting. The crafting recipe requires one popped chorus fruit and one blaze rod, which yields 4 end rods. Players can also obtain end rods using commands. Aside from lighting and decoration, end rods have no other special use in the game.
