Farmland

Original Title:Farmland

Languages:

  • Chinese: 耕地
  • English: Farmland
In Minecraft, farmland is a special variant of dirt that cannot be obtained directly in Survival mode. It is created by using a hoe on dirt, grass blocks, or dirt paths. Farmland is essential for growing crops such as wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroots, pumpkins, and melons. If farmland is not near water, it will decay back into dirt over time. However, if it is near water, it becomes hydrated farmland, which accelerates crop growth and prevents decay. When mined, farmland drops dirt, even with a Silk Touch tool. Farmland naturally generates in villages, surrounded by logs or sandstone, spruce trapdoors, and cobblestone. Players can create farmland by using a hoe on a dirt block. It is crucial for growing various crops including wheat seeds, carrots, potatoes, beetroot seeds, melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, torchflower seeds, and pitcher pods. Plants like saplings, ferns, grass, and flowers can also be planted on farmland. Farmland is 15/16th of a block high, preventing mob spawns. If not hydrated and unplanted, farmland will eventually revert to dirt. Hydrated farmland accelerates growth; for instance, wheat on hydrated farmland can fully mature in a little over a single day-night cycle.
