Fire
In Minecraft, fire is a non-solid block that can spread to nearby flammable blocks and destroy them. Fire cannot be obtained as an item, but it can be placed using flint and steel or a fire charge. Normal fire burns for a short and randomly determined amount of time and dies out if there are no flammable blocks nearby. Water extinguishes fire. Players and mobs catch fire and take damage when exposed to it. Soul fire is a variation of fire that is turquoise in color. It is created when soul sand or soul soil is ignited. It deals more damage than normal fire and does not spread. Fire naturally generates in the Nether, such as in the soul sand valley biome, where soul fire only generates on soul soil. Fire also spreads through lava, lightning strikes, or explosions when sleeping in the Nether or End. The speed at which fire spreads depends on the surrounding environment; for example, the rate of spread slows in humid biomes. Some blocks such as netherrack and magma blocks can burn permanently. In the game, fire is a powerful element, able to provide light and heat, and cause destruction and danger.
