Glass Pane

Glass panes are transparent blocks in Minecraft that serve as a more efficient alternative to glass blocks. They are more cost-effective, yielding 16 glass panes from 6 glass blocks. Glass panes can be dyed into various colors of stained glass panes. They naturally generate as windows in villages, woodland mansions, and ancient cities. Orange and red stained glass panes appear in savanna village temples, while yellow ones generate in plains and savanna village temples. Glass panes can only be obtained using a tool enchanted with Silk Touch; otherwise, they drop nothing when broken. The shape of a glass pane varies based on surrounding blocks, appearing as a thin vertical line when isolated and flattening or connecting when adjacent to other blocks. Glass panes cannot be oriented horizontally and must use glass blocks for horizontal surfaces. They can be waterlogged, unlike regular glass. Glass panes can lock maps on cartography tables, preventing further filling. Cartographer villagers buy glass panes with emeralds.
