Gold Ore

Gold ore is a relatively rare mineral block found in Minecraft, typically located underground. When mined with an iron pickaxe or higher, it drops raw gold. Mining with a Silk Touch pickaxe will drop the gold ore itself. Gold ore can be smelted into gold ingots. In the Overworld, it generates in veins of 1 to 9 blocks between Y levels 0 and 31 in all biomes, and from Y level 28 to 80 in badlands biomes. Deepslate gold ore is a variant found in deepslate layers. Besides being smelted into gold ingots, gold ore is also used to craft clocks, golden apples, powered rails, blocks of gold, and netherite ingots. Gold ore is also used for bartering with piglins. Piglins become hostile towards players mining gold ore, even if the player is wearing gold armor. Placing gold ore under a note block will produce a "bass drum" sound. While gold ore can be crafted into tools and armor, they have low durability, so gold ore is mainly used for crafting higher-tier items and decorations.
