The Honeycomb Block is a decorative block in Minecraft, crafted using four honeycombs. It was added in Java Edition 1.15 snapshot 19w41a. Honeycomb blocks can be mined using any tool or by hand and always drop as an item. The primary use of honeycomb blocks is decorative; they cannot be broken back down into honeycombs, and therefore, cannot be used for bulk storage of honeycombs. In Bedrock Edition, honeycomb blocks can be placed under note blocks to produce flute sounds. While real-life honeycombs are based on a hexagonal tiling, the honeycomb block's texture is more akin to a square tiling, likely to fit in with the game's block style. Honeycomb blocks are stackable, do not obey physics, are opaque, not luminous, and flammable. In Minecraft, honeycomb blocks are primarily used for building and decoration, providing a unique golden textured block for players.
