Leaves
In Minecraft, leaves are natural blocks that form the canopy of trees. They come in various types, including oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak, as well as special leaves such as mangrove, azalea, and cherry. The color of leaves varies based on the biome they are in, with lighter shades in deserts and darker shades in swamps. Leaves naturally decay and disappear if they are not directly connected to a log or wood block or are beyond a certain distance (6 blocks in Java Edition, 4 blocks in Bedrock Edition), unless placed by a player. Shears or tools enchanted with Silk Touch can be used to collect leaves. Broken leaves have a small chance of dropping saplings, and oak and dark oak leaves have a very low chance of dropping apples. Leaves can be used for composting and influence bee behavior, with flowering azalea and cherry leaves attracting bees. Additionally, leaves can be used as redstone components for long-distance signal transmission. In snowy biomes, leaves appear frost-covered when fancy graphics are enabled. Recent updates have also added falling particle effects for some types of leaves.
