In Minecraft, a light gray bed is a dyeable block that allows a player to sleep and reset their spawn point to within a few blocks of the bed in the Overworld. If the bed is obstructed or removed, the player spawns at the default world spawn location. A light gray bed can be crafted in two ways: one by placing three light gray wool and three planks of any wood type in a crafting table, and another by placing a white bed and a light gray dye in a crafting table. Light gray wool can be made by combining white wool and light gray dye, while light gray dye can be obtained by combining bone meal with gray dye, or by placing a white tulip, oxeye daisy, or azure bluet in a crafting grid. Light gray beds can be found in the Creative inventory. In Survival mode, players use them to skip the night, avoid being attacked by mobs, and reset their spawn point. Attempting to use a bed in dimensions such as the Nether or End will cause it to explode and set fire to surrounding blocks, although villagers can use beds normally in any dimension without them exploding. The item ID and command for a light gray bed can be used to spawn it in the game.
