The mangrove sign is a new type of sign in Minecraft, introduced in the 'Wild Update'. Similar to traditional wooden signs, mangrove signs allow players to write text on them, used for marking locations, providing information, or decoration. Crafting a mangrove sign requires 6 mangrove planks and 1 stick, and one crafting will yield 3 mangrove signs. Signs can be placed on the top or side of blocks. Players can use dyes to change the color of the sign's text and glow ink sacs to make the text glow. Mangrove signs also share the same properties as other signs, such as being surrounded by water and lava, and being used as fuel for furnaces. In Creative mode, players can obtain mangrove signs using commands.
Mangrove hanging signs are another type of sign that can be hung under blocks or attached to the sides of other blocks, or hung by chains. Different from regular signs, hanging signs are made using stripped mangrove logs and chains. The text on a hanging sign can be dyed and made to glow using glow ink sacs. It also has the feature that water cannot wash it away. One mangrove hanging sign can smelt 4 items.
