Melon Stem

In Minecraft, a Melon Stem is a plant block that grows from melon seeds when planted on farmland. The melon stem grows over time and eventually produces melons on adjacent dirt, mud, or moss blocks. Melon stems have different stages of growth, appearing green when young and yellow when mature. When a melon grows, the stem will curve to connect to it. A mature melon stem can connect to a melon in up to 5 directions. When a melon is removed, the stem will return to its straight shape. The melon stem itself cannot be obtained as an item but is produced by planting melon seeds. Breaking a melon stem can drop 0-3 melon seeds; the chance of seeds dropping increases with the age of the stem. Melon stems generate naturally in stem farms inside woodland mansions, and they also generate in 20% of farm plots in savanna villages and 10% of farm plots in desert villages. Melon stems need a minimum light level of 9 above them to grow and produce melons. Bone meal can accelerate stem growth but does not directly produce melons.
