Oak fences are a common building and functional block in Minecraft. They are mainly used for fencing, enclosing animals, or as decoration. Oak fences are crafted from oak planks and sticks, and three fences are created at a time. A key feature of fences is their 1.5-block high collision box, which prevents most creatures from jumping over them, although spiders can climb over them. Players can jump over fences by using Jump Boost potions or by placing carpets on top of them. Oak fences can connect to other wooden fences but not directly to Nether brick fences, though they can be connected through fence gates. In Creative Mode, players can obtain oak fences directly from their inventory. Oak fences can also be used as fuel in furnaces, with each fence smelting 1.5 items. Additionally, placing oak fences under note blocks produces a bass sound. The IDs and data values of oak fences vary slightly across different versions of Minecraft, and players can use specific commands to generate oak fences, with different command formats for Java and Bedrock editions.
