  • Chinese: 牡丹
  • English: Peony
In Minecraft, the peony is a tall flower that commonly generates naturally in forest, flower forest, birch forest, old growth birch forest, and dark forest biomes. It can be obtained by breaking naturally generated peonies or by applying bone meal to them. Peonies themselves cannot be crafted using a crafting table or furnace; they are items that need to be found and gathered. Peonies can be used to craft pink dye and can also be planted as decorative blocks on grass blocks, dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, farmland, podzol, mycelium, moss blocks, mud, or muddy mangrove roots. Additionally, peonies attract bees, are used for pollination, and increase honey levels in beehives. Placing a peony in a composter has a 65% chance of raising the compost level. In the game, the ID for peony is 'minecraft:peony'. It was first added in the 'Update That Changed The World' in October 2013, and has remained largely unchanged since, aside from minor texture adjustments. Peonies are considered versatile plants in Minecraft, useful not only for decoration but also for dyeing, beekeeping, and composting activities.
