The piglin head is a block in Minecraft modeled after the head of a piglin. It was added in the 1.20 'Trails & Tales' update. Piglin heads cannot be crafted and must be obtained through specific means. They have a chance to drop when a piglin is killed by a charged creeper explosion. Piglin heads can be placed on the ground or walls for decoration, similar to other head blocks, or worn by players like a helmet, reducing the detection range of piglins. When placed on top of a note block and activated, it will play the piglin's ambient sound. The main uses for piglin heads include decoration, disguise, and triggering sound effects. Notably, in the Java Edition, only one head is randomly dropped if multiple mobs are killed by the same charged creeper, whereas in Bedrock Edition, all killed mobs will drop their heads. Additionally, piglin heads can be obtained through commands and also support custom skins; players can use specific NBT data to assign any Minecraft account skin to a piglin head. The animation of a piglin head involves its ears flapping at speeds of 2 and 2.5 times per second. In summary, a piglin head is a relatively rare and versatile block in Minecraft, used for decoration, disguise, sound playback, and other special purposes.
