In Minecraft, a Player Head is a special block modeled after a player's head, with Steve's head as the default. This block cannot be directly obtained in Survival mode and requires commands or other means to acquire. Player Heads can be placed on the ground or walls, and their orientation can be adjusted like signs, with 16 top directions and 4 side directions. They can also be worn by players, similar to pumpkins or helmets, overlaying the player's second skin layer. Furthermore, Player Heads can be customized using NBT data to display the skin of any Minecraft account. When placed above a note block, Player Heads play specific sounds. The Player Wall Head is the form a Player Head takes when placed on a wall; it is essentially the same block, just displayed differently on walls. Player Wall Heads are not directly obtainable and serve as a visual representation of a placed Player Head.
Aside from Player Heads, other types of heads exist in Minecraft, such as Zombie Heads, Skeleton Skulls, Wither Skeleton Skulls, Creeper Heads, Piglin Heads, and Dragon Heads. These heads can be obtained by defeating corresponding mobs or found in specific locations, like Dragon Heads in end ships of end cities. These heads have various uses, from decoration to summoning the Wither or triggering redstone mechanisms. Each head has unique uses and acquisition methods, enriching the player's gaming experience. Player Heads and Player Wall Heads, while not directly obtainable in Survival, are crucial for map making and decoration.
