The Purpur Pillar is a decorative block in Minecraft, primarily used for decoration, and can also be used to produce a "bass drum" sound when placed under note blocks. Purpur Pillars are mainly found in the structures of End Cities and End Ships, but they can also be crafted. Crafting a Purpur Pillar requires two Purpur Slabs. Purpur Pillars can be mined with any pickaxe; however, they will not drop anything if mined without one. Purpur Pillars can be placed sideways, similar to logs or quartz pillar blocks. The texture of the Purpur Pillar is vertical stripes, and its color is End purple. The main use of Purpur Pillars is decoration, such as using them as pillars or wall decorations in constructions. In the Java Edition, Purpur Pillars can be obtained via the /give command, for example: /give @s minecraft:purpur_pillar 64. In the Bedrock Edition, the /give command format for Purpur Pillars is slightly different. Purpur Pillars have different IDs, names, and data values in different versions of the game. There are also two other variants of Purpur Pillars in Bedrock Edition, called Chiseled Purpur and Smooth Purpur, but these can only be obtained via commands, and they look identical to regular Purpur blocks.
