A small dripleaf is a plant in Minecraft, introduced in the 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update. It primarily generates in the Lush Caves biome and is a small, aquatic leaf used to grow big dripleaves, which can serve as temporary platforms. Small dripleaves cannot be crafted and must be gathered using shears from naturally generated plants. In Creative mode, they can be found in the inventory. Small dripleaves can be placed on clay and moss blocks, as well as on dirt, coarse dirt, farmland, grass blocks, podzol, rooted dirt, mycelium, mud, and pale moss blocks if these blocks are underwater. When bone meal is applied to a small dripleaf, it grows into a big dripleaf, but small dripleaves do not grow naturally. Small dripleaves can be placed into a composter with a 30% chance to increase the compost level. Furthermore, wandering traders may occasionally sell two small dripleaves for one emerald. While they cannot be farmed directly, they are an essential plant in Minecraft, useful for platforming and decoration.
