The spruce button is a mechanism block in Minecraft, a variant of wooden buttons. It serves as a temporary redstone signal source, activated by player interaction or when hit by arrows or tridents. Spruce buttons remain active longer than stone buttons. They are crafted using spruce planks at a crafting table. Spruce buttons can be placed on the sides, bottoms, or tops of any opaque block. In Java Edition, they can be placed on the top or bottom of a block facing any direction. In Bedrock Edition, they can also be attached to the top of a fence. Besides being used as a switch in redstone circuits, spruce buttons can be used as fuel in furnaces, smelting 0.5 items per button. Jungle buttons are naturally generated on house walls in desert villages, and oak buttons generate in trial chambers. Spruce buttons are mainly used to open iron doors and activate redstone devices such as command blocks. In Creative mode, players can find spruce buttons in the inventory or use commands to obtain them.
