A structure void is an invisible block in Minecraft primarily used in conjunction with structure blocks. Unlike air blocks, structure voids are not recorded when saving a structure, so when a structure containing structure voids is loaded, the original blocks are not overwritten, but remain unchanged. This makes structure voids a powerful tool for creating complex structures and terrains. Structure void blocks can only be obtained through commands, such as `/setblock`, `/fill`, or `/give`. In the Java Edition, they can also be found in the creative inventory if cheats are enabled. When "show invisible blocks" is enabled, structure void blocks appear as small red cubes in the structure block's save mode. In Java Edition, structure void blocks have no collision box but have a small hitbox. Entities can pass through it, but liquids cannot. In Bedrock Edition, structure void blocks have the same collision box as a full block, and they are visible when held, similar to barrier blocks. Structure voids can be moved by pistons, but they will turn into air after being pushed.
