Tinted Glass

Tinted glass is a special block in Minecraft that is visually transparent but completely blocks light. Unlike regular glass, tinted glass drops itself even when broken without using a tool enchanted with Silk Touch. This allows players to easily collect and reuse it. Tinted glass cannot be dyed and cannot be crafted into glass panes. Its main purpose is to create dark areas, simulating the effect of night even during the day, which is very useful for construction and redstone circuit design. For example, players can use tinted glass to build secret bases or night vision rooms without worrying about light leakage. Tinted glass was introduced in the 1.17 update and can be crafted by placing 4 amethyst shards and 1 glass block in a specific pattern in the crafting table.
