Tuff Stairs

In Minecraft, Tuff Stairs are a stair variant made from Tuff, introduced in the 1.21 Tricky Trials Update. Tuff is an ornamental rock found in underground ore blobs, and these stairs add a unique texture and look to player builds. Tuff Stairs can be mined using any pickaxe, dropping themselves as items upon breaking. They can also be crafted using 6 tuff blocks in a specific pattern on a crafting table, yielding 4 tuff stairs at a time, or crafted using a stonecutter. Unlike wooden stairs, tuff stairs cannot be used as furnace fuel, but they can be placed under note blocks to produce “bass drum” sounds. Tuff Stairs can be found in the creative inventory and have unique IDs and data values. Players can directly obtain them using commands, such as “/give @s minecraft:tuff_stairs 1” in Java Edition. Tuff Stairs are one of many stair variants in the game, and their material and appearance provide a different aesthetic to builds, allowing players to more finely create terrains and structures.
