The Tuff Wall is a decorative block in Minecraft, a variant of the wall made from tuff. It was introduced in the 1.21 "Tricky Trials" update. Similar to fences, tuff walls can be used to create boundaries because players and most mobs cannot climb or jump over them. Players can mine tuff walls using any pickaxe; if mined without a pickaxe, they drop nothing. Tuff walls can connect to other walls to create larger walls, and they can also connect horizontally to iron bars and glass panes. Additionally, tuff walls can be placed under note blocks to produce a "bass drum" sound. To craft a tuff wall, players need to place six tuff blocks in a crafting table, three in each of two rows. Tuff is an ornamental rock formed from volcanic ash, typically found in underground ore blobs below Y=16. Besides tuff walls, tuff can also be used to craft other building blocks like slabs, stairs, and polished tuff. Tuff walls can be found in the creative inventory or obtained using commands. In version 1.21, tuff walls, polished tuff walls, and tuff brick walls are no longer experimental. The tuff wall adds new possibilities to player’s buildings and is an important decorative block in Minecraft.
