The Weathered Copper Grate is a decorative semi-transparent block in Minecraft, a variant of copper blocks with perforations that can be seen through. It was introduced in the 1.21 Tricky Trials Update. Like regular copper blocks, weathered copper grates undergo an oxidation process, gradually developing a green verdigris appearance over time. The oxidation process has four stages: normal, exposed, weathered, and oxidized. Players can apply honeycomb to a weathered copper grate to wax it and prevent further oxidation. Unwaxed grates can have their oxidation removed with an axe or completely by a lightning strike. Weathered copper grates do not conduct redstone, and mobs cannot spawn on top of them. They can be waterlogged, and smoke travels through them. Adjacent copper grates with the same oxidation and wax states become invisible when viewed through them. These grates are mined using a stone pickaxe or better, otherwise no item drops. In creative mode, weathered copper grates can be found in the creative inventory. Crafting a weathered copper grate requires four weathered copper blocks.
