Wet Sponge

Original Title:Wet Sponge

Languages:

  • Chinese: 湿海绵
  • English: Wet Sponge
A wet sponge is a special block in Minecraft, similar to a regular sponge but saturated with water. Wet sponges cannot be crafted; players must find them in Ocean Monuments (also known as Guardian Temples). These monuments are located in deep ocean, deep lukewarm ocean, and deep cold ocean biomes, and often contain 'sponge rooms' with many wet sponges. Another way to get wet sponges is by defeating Elder Guardians, who have a chance to drop them. Wet sponges themselves cannot absorb water, but they can be dried in a furnace, turning them back into regular sponges capable of absorbing water. In Bedrock Edition, placing wet sponges in a dry biome will also dry them out. When a regular sponge comes into contact with water, it quickly absorbs water within a 7-block radius, turning into a wet sponge. Wet sponges emit water droplets and cannot absorb water again. In Java Edition, wet sponges can only be dried in a furnace, whereas in Bedrock Edition, they can also dry naturally when placed in a dry biome.
