In Minecraft, the Arrow of Luck is a special type of arrow that applies the 'Luck' status effect to players or mobs upon impact. This effect increases the likelihood of obtaining higher-quality loot from fishing or naturally generated chests. The Arrow of Luck is not obtainable through conventional means, usually requiring commands or creative mode access. In Java Edition, players can craft Arrows of Luck by combining a Lingering Potion of Luck with eight regular arrows. When an entity is hit, the Luck effect will last for 37 seconds. Similar to other potions, the level of the effect granted by the Arrow of Luck is fixed, and this specific effect is exclusive to Java Edition. The Luck effect itself raises an attribute called `generic.luck`, making loot table entries with a higher quality score more likely, and those with a negative score less likely. While not readily available in survival mode, the Luck status effect offers a significant advantage, particularly when seeking rare items.
