Banner patterns in Minecraft are items that allow players to customize the appearance of banners. They are applied using a loom, along with dyes and banners, to create unique patterns and designs. There are a total of 10 different banner patterns, each with a unique method of acquisition. Six of them can be crafted: the Flower Charge pattern requires paper and an oxeye daisy, the Field Masoned pattern requires paper and a brick, the Bordure Indented pattern requires paper and a vine, the Skull Charge pattern requires paper and a wither skeleton skull, the Creeper Charge pattern requires paper and a creeper head, and the Thing pattern requires paper and an enchanted golden apple. The other four must be obtained through other means: the Globe pattern is obtained by trading with a cartographer villager, the Snout pattern is found as loot in bastion remnants, and the Guster and Flow patterns are obtained in trial chambers. The patterns themselves are not consumed and can be reused. Up to 6 layers of patterns can be added to a banner to create complex designs. Banners are a popular decorative item in Minecraft, used to express creativity, individuality, and to mark territories.
