Beetroot soup is an edible food item in Minecraft that restores the player's hunger. To make beetroot soup, players need to gather beetroots and a bowl. On a crafting table, place 6 beetroots and 1 bowl in the specific pattern to craft beetroot soup. Beetroot soup restores 6 hunger points (3 food icons) and 7.2 saturation, the same as cooked chicken and mushroom stew. After consumption, the bowl is returned to the player and can be reused. Beetroots themselves can also be eaten, but they only restore 1 hunger point and 1.2 saturation. Beetroots can also be used to make red dye, compost, breed pigs, and trade with villagers. Beetroots can be obtained by harvesting fully grown beetroot crops, which can be found in villages or grown from beetroot seeds. Beetroot soup was first introduced in Minecraft Pocket Edition version 0.8.0, and later added in the Combat Update for the PC version. It is one of the four types of stews in the game, with the others being rabbit stew, suspicious stew, and mushroom stew.
