In Minecraft, a Bucket of Axolotl is a special item introduced in the Caves & Cliffs Update: Part I. This item is essentially a water bucket filled with a live axolotl. Players cannot craft it at a crafting table or furnace; instead, they must find and capture it in the game. Axolotls are passive aquatic mobs typically found in the lush caves biome. They can be carried around in a bucket and can assist players in underwater combat while granting them Regeneration. Axolotls come in five colors: pink (leucistic), brown (wild), gold, cyan, and blue. The blue variant is a very rare mutation, only appearing with a low probability during breeding. When players kill mobs in combat with one or more axolotls, the axolotls remove Mining Fatigue from the player and grant Regeneration depending on the number of axolotls in the fight. Right-clicking on an axolotl with a water bucket will put it in the bucket. Releasing the axolotl from the bucket will spawn a water source block and place the axolotl into the water. Axolotls, once caught, do not despawn and can be renamed using an anvil. This creature has various uses in the game, including combat assistance, regeneration effects, and as a simple means of transportation.
