  • Chinese: 藏宝图
  • English: Buried Treasure Map
In Minecraft, buried treasure is a naturally generated structure consisting of a buried loot chest. The chest is primarily buried in beaches, and occasionally on the ocean floor. Buried treasure is the only source of the heart of the sea, which can be used to craft a conduit. Players can locate buried treasure using explorer maps or treasure maps found in chests within shipwrecks and underwater ruins. The treasure map will mark the location of the treasure with a red 'X'. Once players reach the location marked by the 'X' on the map, they need to dig around the area to find the buried chest. The chest is usually covered by sand or gravel, but can sometimes be stone or other blocks. Buried chests always contain a heart of the sea, along with other loot. In Java Edition, buried treasure always generates at chunk coordinate 9 on both the X and Z axes and always faces east. In Bedrock Edition, buried treasure always generates at chunk coordinate 8 on the X and Z axes.
