Charcoal
Charcoal is a renewable resource in Minecraft, obtained by smelting logs or wood in a furnace. It serves a similar function to coal, being used as fuel for smelting items, crafting torches, and campfires. Unlike coal, charcoal cannot be stacked with coal, nor can it be crafted into coal blocks. The advantage of charcoal lies in its renewability; players can obtain an unlimited supply by planting trees, whereas coal requires mining. Charcoal is an important substitute in the early game when coal is scarce. The burning efficiency of charcoal is the same as coal, with each piece supporting 8 smelting processes. In addition, charcoal is used to craft soul torches, regular torches, and campfires. Obtaining charcoal also unlocks the 'Renewable Energy' achievement. Overall, charcoal is a vital basic resource in Minecraft, especially useful for new players as it is easily accessible and highly practical as a fuel and crafting material.
