Echo Shard

Echo Shards are a rare item in Minecraft, primarily found in chests within ancient city ruins. These shards have no special use on their own but are a key crafting material for the recovery compass. The recovery compass guides players back to the location of their most recent death, proving incredibly useful for retrieving lost items in the game. To craft a recovery compass, players need to gather eight echo shards and combine them with a regular compass in a crafting table. Echo Shards were initially introduced in the Wild Update, released in June 2022, and serve as an incentive to explore the game's deep dark areas, challenge wardens and ultimately obtain useful crafting tools. Although finding echo shards can be a challenge, the recovery compass enhances the safety of exploration and adventure.
