The Glow Item Frame is a special decorative item in Minecraft, first introduced in the Caves & Cliffs Update: Part I. Unlike regular item frames, the Glow Item Frame illuminates itself and the item it displays, making it clearly visible even in the dark. This allows players to showcase items such as maps, armor, or other useful or decorative objects more easily in poorly lit environments. The glow is not emitted from the frame itself but enhances the visibility of the item within. To craft a Glow Item Frame, players need a regular item frame and a glow ink sac, which can be obtained by defeating glow squids. Glow Item Frames share the same placement and usage mechanics as regular item frames, capable of being placed on most solid block sides, as well as some non-solid blocks. Players can rotate the item within by right-clicking, and the rotation state can be read by a redstone comparator. In Creative Mode, the Glow Item Frame can be found in the inventory. This item is not only decorative but also practical for players during their gameplay.
